Acting is my passion - Dan Tei Mensah declares
Veteran Ghanaian actor Dan Tei Mensah has noted that he will not stop acting since it is his passion.
The actor who has been conspicuously missing in movies for a while now indicated that although he is a minister of the word of God that would not stop him from acting.
“I still do act, acting is my passion and I will always be there, but my primary and paramount status will be to propagate the gospel of Christ”, he reiterated.
When asked the kind of role he will like to play in movies, he said “it doesn’t matter the role, if the script is something that will sell out a very good message, why not”.
Dan started professional acting in 1985. His first movie was Ogboo Nana, starring Alhaji Sidiku Buari, after which he starred in rested sitcom Thursday Theatre, Showcase In Ga and other TV productions.
In the interview on Hitz Fm yesterday, the actor indicated that he became born again a year ago.
“I think for over a year now, that realization came when I felt that, enough of all that I have been through and it’s high time I serve the master in spirit and in truth”.
He said instead of being referred to as a pastor he’d like to be known as an evangelist
“A pastor is supposed to take care of God’s sheep but I want to see myself proclaiming the gospels of Christ like an evangelist, I don’t have a formal training when it comes to pastoral, so I will see myself as an evangelist.
“Christ is coming again and people will have to repent so wherever he finds himself, he will speak about the gospel of Christ”, he continued.
He joins the league of Ghanaian entertainers like Ofori Amponah, Lord Kenya among others who have found solace in serving God.
Dan Tei Mensah is known as one of Ghana’s favourite actors whose contributions have helped Ghana’s movie industry. Over the years, he has featured in a lot of movies including Shadows From the Past, Without Her Concern, Wedlock, Man-Woman and a host of others.
